This was done in a letter written by the Lead Chairman of the joint committee, Jon Ginger Onwusibe to the involved parties over the allegations of corruption against the Economic and Financial Crime Commission EFCC and the Nigeria Correctional Services.

The ACG Ben Rabbi Freedman the Controller of Corrections Lagos Command as of then, Ja’afaru Ahmed Secretary Board, Micheal Anugwa DCC in charge of medium Security, Sikiru Adekunle DCC in charge of Maximum Security were equally invited by the House of reps.

The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has also launched his own investigations into Bobrisky’s claim that he bribed prison officials to avoid being jailed during his sentence. He disclosed this in a statement issued in Abuja and signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Babatunde Alao.

“The Ministry will not tolerate any compromise on its core values of integrity, transparency, and accountability. We will leave no stone unturned in rooting out corruption and ensuring that those found culpable face the full wrath of the law,” Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo said.

“The Minister has called for a special investigative team headed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, to probe these allegations and submit a comprehensive report.”

Recall that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested Bobrisky on six counts of money laundering and Naira mutilation.

However during his trial at the Federal High Court in Lagos, Justice Abimbola Awogboro dismissed the money laundering charges (counts five and six) but sentenced the controversial celebrity to six months in prison for Naira abuse.
