Kenyan man reportedly kills his wife for returning home late

Florence Kaari, a 28-year old Kenyan woman have allegedly been killed by her husband for returning home late on Sunday night, December 4, 2022.

Information gathered was that his woman passed away after while receiving  treatment in a hospital after her husband hit her with a sharp weapon on her head at their residence at Githurai 45.

According to family’s house keeper identified as Ruth Kaimenyi, the man reportedly got home drunk around 1am and asked for the whereabouts of his wife.

“He came home drunk and asked where his wife was. I

told him that she had not arrived, and he told me to get out

of the house as he threatened me stating that I was

supposed to know,” Ms Kaimenyi told the police.

The house keeper also said that Florence returned home 30
minutes after she was banned from entering the house  with her
female friend identified as  Ms. Gakii. and on questioning why she
was banned from entering the house , the House maid  narrated
the the incident that happened earlier to her.
However, Florence who did not take the warning serious , reluctantly knocked on the door and on opening the door, Fight ensued between her and her husband who have been waiting for her.
While the fight was ongoing , Ms Gakil and the housekeeper attempted to separate the fight but all their effort proved abortive and the man turn started abusing them too.

“Our attempts to stop them were futile. The husband

instead started hurling insults at us calling Kaari’s friend a

pr0stitute,” the housekeeper further revealed.

The fight resulted Florence to  a major injury on her head as a result  of her husband  stabbing  her with sharp object.

However, she was rushed to the hospital because of injury sustained but passed away in the early hours of Monday, December 5.
On hearing the news of her demise, the Suspect informed his in-
laws that their daughter died because she consumed poison.

“I asked him how she had died and he told me that she

had taken poison. This is despite the house being filled

with blood stains,” Kaari’s father said.

The police boss of Kasarani Police Station, Mr Anthony Mbogo,

who confirmed the incident on Tuesday, December 6, said that

police officers and detectives attached to the Directorate of

Criminal Investigations (DCI) had already visited the scene and processed it

“They also arrested the suspect who was then taken from Githurai 44 police station and is currently held at Kasarani Police station,” said Mbogo.
