Ismailia Yusuf Atumeyi, The candidate of the new Nigerian People’s part ,NNPP running for the office of the state house of Assembly have been apprehended alongside two others bt the men of Economic and financial crime commission ,EFCC, in FCT Abuja fore allegedly N1.4 billion and have reportedly been moved from Abuja to Lagos.
EFCC spoke person Wilson Uwajaren in a statement he released stated that Atumeyi alongside two others were flown into lagos in the early hours of Wednesday ,November 2,2022 stating that further investigation of the alleged theft will commence.
Uwajaren also stated that he have been billed to be interrogated and investigated by different team of operatives at the Lagos command of EFCC.
Atumeyi alongside two others identified as Joshua Dominic and AbdulMalik Salau Femi, who was a former bank employee were apprehended by the men of Economic and financial crime commission for allegedly hacking into the banking system of a popular commercial bank and defrauding the institution of N1.4 billion.
The commission in a statement issued on Tuesday November 1,2022 disclosed that a total of N326 million and wads of US dollars worth $140,500 was recovered from Atumeyi during the sting operation and his hideout at Quieens estate ,Gwarimpa,Abuja while total sum of N470,00 was recovered from Abdulmalk in Lagos.
