Men of Ondo police force has arrested a 54- year old man identified as Ojo Joseph for setting his five step-children ablaze.
According to information gathered, the un fortunate incident took place at Fagun Crescent area of Ondo town, headquarters of Ondo West Local Government Area of the state.
Reports also hade it that Joseph poured petrol into the room where the children were and set them on fire .
A close source to this family who spoke to the Nigeria Tribune attested that joseph committed this act because the wife allegedly denied him of her body and as result, they have been having a lot of misunderstandings about it .
It was reported that the mother of the seven children reportedly escaped the fire with her twins while the rest of the children sustained reasonable degree of injury , they were rushed afterward they were referred to Federal Medical Centre, Owo, for medical treatment.
The spoke person of Ondo police command Funmi Odunlami who confirmed this incident disclosed that Ojo Joseph have been arrested and charged with the case of arson murder.
Funmi Odunlami also added that Ojo Joseph is not the biological father of the other five children rather their step father but he is the father of the 18 months twins that the wife escaped with.
He also said that investigation has immediately commenced and the perpetrator will be charged by the court after investigation.
