NFF owes Super Eagle coach Peseiro six months salary

Super Eagles head coach of the, Jose Peseiro is yet to receive his salary for the past six months.

The salary owed the Portuguese is $420,000 in total.

The former Saudi Arabia and Venezuela coach was appointed in May 2022 on a monthly pay of $70,000.

Nigeria’s sports minister, Sunday Dare, stated that the government would take full responsibility for the payment of the gaffer’s salary when he took charge of the Super Eagles.

According to respected journalist, Osasu Obayiwana, who was a former member of the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA), anti- racism task force, Peseiro has not been paid for the last six month.

Peseiro, according to the former BBC reporter has already complained to FIFA about his unpaid wages.

Under recent FIFA laws, the ex Porto coach can unilaterally discontinue his contract, without prejudice, and will have to be paid in full.

The NFF are currently paying off the backlog of outstanding salaries of former Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr after unilaterally terminating his the contract last December.
