An Ondo-based pastor identified as Pastor Paul Oyewole has been held accountable for faking his own death to dodge the payment of N3 million he owed to his church members.
Pastor Oyewole reportedly published his fake Obituary on official Facebook page ,announcing his death after he sent a fake Transaction receipt to his creditor identified as Boyede Emmanuel.
Oyewole was held accountable for falsely acquiring ,Money which he promised to pay after 7 days.
He was also charged for forging his Death by publishing his obituary post in his every social media handles.
He was also Charged for making fake transaction and sending fake receipts to his creditor.
Oyewole was accused of threatening the complainant over the phone with the purpose to intimidate him and acting in a way that was likely to provoke a breach of the peace by stripping nude in front of the complainant’s residence.
Oyewole, on the other hand, pled not guilty to the accusations brought against him.
Recently, Men of plateau state police arrested a clergy man
identified as Albarka Sukuya for allegedly kidnapping himself
twice and demanding for ransom from his church members
This was disclosed by Plateau state police command
spokesperson, Alfred Alabo on Wednesday January 11 in a
statement. According to him, the suspect staged his kidnap to dupe unsuspecting persons.
The statement reads
“The Police has uncovered the nefarious act of one Pastor Albarka Sukuya of Jenta Apata, Jos, who on several
occasions staged his kidnap with his cohorts and received
ransom from sympathising members of his congregation.
Sequel to his spurious kidn@ps of Nov. 14 and Nov. 15,
2022, where N400,000 and N200,000, respectively, were
paid by his sympathisers as ransom for his release, the
incidents trigg£red suspicion.
Through credible intelligence, the clergyman was invited by the DPO Nasarawa Gwong Police Station, CSP Musa Hassan and investigation commenced immediately.
