With less than 3 days to the World cup at Qatar and the arrival of football stars into the Islamic nation hosting this year’s prestigious footballing event in anticipation of the biggest soccer event in the world.
Football stars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Luiz Suarez
have announced that this might be their last world cup
appearances which largely due to the age factor.
Playing at the World Cup is the dream of every footballer and they
all go there with just one goal in mind which is to return back to
their respective nations as winners of the coveted price.
The world cup would be met with mixed reactions by footballers, nations, and football fans across the globe.
To some they finally get to represent their countries, to others it
is a golden opportunity to cement their legendary status and to
some it will be a period of shattered hopes as they would be
unable to represent their individual nations in the tournament.
Others due to their coach’s team selections which excluded them or injuries incurred at their club sides. In this article we look at some football stars that would not be present at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Paul Pogba ( France) due to an injury, the French midfielder
and one time World Cup Winner won be representing France at
this year’s tournament.
In like Manner Chelsea’s beautiful
defender and striker duo Reece James ( England) and Ben
Chilwell (England) won’t be at this year’s World Cup
representing the nation of England due to a knee injury and a torn ACL.
N’Golo Kante ( France) the French defensive midfielder and ever contagious N’golo Kante would also be watching this years World Cup from the comfort of his home or most probably a clinic as he would not be able to represent his nation at Qatar after sustaining injuries at his club side earlier this year.
Diogo Jota (Portugal), Gini Wijnaldum (Netherlands), Dani olmo & mikel oyarzabel of Spain, Jesus “Tecacto” Corons ( Mexico) are all also going to be off pitch this worldcup season as they need to get better from injuries sustained this season. Other notable mention include Wesley Fofana (France), Alphonso Davies( Canada ), Romelu Lukaku ( Belgium ) and although still in doubt Sadio Mane of Senegal.
