Hundreds of people attended the tearful funeral of a crocodile believed to have been divine and which survived for decades guarding the temple and on a vegetarian diet at a Hindu temple in India.
The crocodile which was named Babia guarded much revered sri Ananthapadmanbha Swamy temple in the southern state of Kerala ,lurking in the surround lake for nearly 80 years , the temple’s secretary Bhat said.
The reptile was found floating lifeless on the lake early on Monday after reportedly being off it’s food several days.
The temple Kasaragog dedicated the hindu god Vishnu is 3,000 years old, and has been protected for centuries by a lone ” crocodile, Bhat said.
