Pastor Adeboye warns citizens to leave criticism and pray for the leaders.

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, (RCCG) Enoch Adebayo, urged Nigerians to desist from complaining about bad leadership and pray for leaders instead.

He alerts that inability to pray for leaders might result in disastrous consequences for citizens.

Referring to how David, biblical King of Israel, performed a census of Israelites against God’s teaching and his rebelliousness led to the death of 70,000 men.

Pastor Adeboye advised citizens to pray for “rulers”, saying rulers don’t suffer from their mistakes but citizens do.

He said, while preaching on Sunday “Pray for the rulers, we have spent so much time criticising them,” So why are we suffering? Because we have not prayed. The fault is ours not the rulers’.”

“You should pray for them. I’m praying today and I pray you will join me to pray that God will continue to guide our leaders aright,” he added, quoting 2 Chronicle 7:14.

He further said Nigerians should pray for their rulers if they love themselves, bemoaning the hike in price of flight ticket, constant power grid collapse.

“The other day I was asking how much is a Lagos to Abuja ticket, they said N250,000. Let me tell you one thing: it doesn’t matter how much bread is costing, there will be bread in Aso Rock.

“It doesn’t matter how many times electric grid collapses, there would be light in Aso Rock. If our rulers make mistakes, who is going to suffer? If you love yourself, pray for your rulers,” Mr Adeboye said.
